Barber & Osgerby. The interaction between the design and the user.

Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby. Interior designer and product designer. Together, they epitomise the philosophy of interaction design. This focuses on the user’s interaction with the product. What he sees, hears, and needs. Design artistry which has also resulted in international public contracts. The creation of the Olympic Torch 2012. Or the design of a two-pound coin for the Royal Mint. Both featuring significant haptic details.
Their creativity is immense. Always user-oriented. During its 20-year existence, their design studio has created multi-dimensional innovations. For a wide range of renowned clients.

In collaboration with AXOR, they implemented interaction design in the bathroom. In 2015 the AXOR One shower range celebrated its début at the London Design Festival.

Rethinking the shower. Interactive and minimalist.

The starting point for the collaboration with AXOR posed an interesting question: How can the user have perfect control of the water? The experts in interaction design viewed shower control in a completely new light.
The result was AXOR One. Interaction design par excellence. Control of the individual showers, and also the water temperature and volume, is combined in one element. Minimalist. Monolithic. Easy to operation via large paddles. A perfect match: AXOR One hand shower. Another masterpiece of intuitive operation.

Barber & Osgerby. Innovative british designer duo.

Both born in 1969. Studied interior design and product design. Got to know each other while studying for a Master's degree in architecture at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1996 they opened their joint studio in the Trellick Tower in London. Within the space of a few years, they were making their mark on the international design scene. With customers such as Knoll, Cappellini, B&B Italia, Sony, Swarovski and Vitra.
Their creations have manifested themselves in limited editions, through to exhibitions and hotel architecture. Outcome of their success: In 2011, more branches of the Barber & Osgerby design studio were added. The Universal Design Studio for interior design and MAP. A consultancy with a strategy-based approach to developing design. Since then, they have concentrated on the linkage points between the disciplines of industrial design, furniture design and architecture.
